Epilator - Panasonic ES-WD51

what is epilator?
It is a hair removal tools.
It is when shaver and tweezer marry and had baby together! -_-"
It is like a shaver, but instead of blades, it consists of small tweezers.

I owned 2 of them; this Panasonic one, and Braun. I got the panasonic epilator sometime in february this year from amazon. I decided to get the panasonic one because it is cordless - so it is easier to remove hair on my legs. I use it for both my armpit and legs and anywhere I need to remove unwanted hair. Panasonic epilator can be use in both dry and wet condition, but I actually never try using it wet. I think the braun epilator removes/pluck better than the panasonic; with the panasonic I have to go through a certain area multiple times (more than the braun). However, the top pink portion of the panasonic is sort of flexible allowing it to get to a more curvy area.

**gross alert** sorry for the hair - I tried to remove them, but it is hard to get everything out. This is the head part of the epilator consist of a lot of small tweezers.

I bought Braun and started using epilator since 2010, back then I mainly use this for my armpit, because I find it really annoying with the cord to remove hair on other part of the body. Ever since I started using it, I found my armpit to discolor a lot (over the course of 2 years +)! When we shaved, we cant really get the root of hair beneath our skin, therefore the under arm appears darker. Whereas plucking them will remove all the way to the root. My armpit hair is not as coarse and thick as it used to be and grow slower and more sparse.

I think this is a very smart innovation. I love it! It makes "shaving" so much easier. I don't even need mirror to shave, and the result is so much better than blades. I can do it where ever I need too. I bring it along with me in my purse (it comes with a cap) for emergency purposes. I save a ton of money by not going to salon to wax my legs.

One downfall about using the epilator is you have to wait a little bit (about 1mm hair growth) before you can epilate, or else, it will start plucking your skin which will hurt!! So you have to bear with your rainforest armpit for few days... :P Hahaha...

Coconut Oil

OMG! this is like so addicting!

Some of the coconut oil benefits...

1. Skin Care: Wanna look like you just came back from an hour of yoga? Coconut oil works wonders as a moisturizer for all skin types, especially dry skin and aging skin, leaving you refreshed and looking wide-awake. No headstand required! The fat in the oil helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles without any irritation. Coconut oil can also help with skin problems like psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin conditions. In fact, the oil is frequently used in expensive skin care products.
2. Stress Relief: Long day at the office, kids won’t stop screaming and your dog left a little “present” on your vintage bedspread? Relieve mental fatigue by applying coconut oil to the head in a circular, massaging motion. The natural aroma of coconuts is extremely soothing thus helping to lower your stress level.
3. Digestion: The saturated fats in coconut oil have anti-bacterial properties that help control, parasites, and fungi that cause indigestion and other digestion related problems such as irritable bowel syndrome. The fat in coconut oil also aids in the absorption of vitamins, minerals and amino acids, making you healthier all around.

4. Fitness: Coconut oil has been proven to stimulate your metabolism, improve thyroid function, and escalate energy levels, all of which help decrease your unwanted fat, while increasing muscle. Because of this, coconut oil has shot to popularity by being the world’s only natural low-calorie fat. Sign me up!
5. Healing: When applied on scrapes and cuts, coconut oil forms a thin, chemical layer which protects the wound from outside dust, bacteria and virus. Coconut oil speeds up the healing process of bruises by repairing damaged tissues. Plus, it smells a heck-of-a-lot better than anything from the pharmacy.
6. Hair Care: $20 hair conditioners? I don’t think so! Coconut oil is one of the most nutritious products you can put on your hair. Massage a bit of the oil onto your scalp and presto – no more dandruff. Since it provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair, it’s used in a ton of over-the-counter hair products anyway. Why not cut to the chase and skip all the unnecessary chemicals?

After watching JulieG on youtube, my search for coconut oil began. I got the coconut oil at whole food market for $12.99 + tax. But I found a cheaper source at vitacost.com.

I bought this to use it as a hair treatment. Turned out, Indian women have been using this trick forever! no wonder they can grow their hair really long and healthy. So, today morning my cuticles to be very dry, so I put some on my nails and hands. Surprisingly it is not oily at all it absorbs instantly to the skin. My hands feel really soft and smells really good! (reminds me a lot of Indonesian dessert -- I want to eat my hands).

Have you try coconut oil? What do you use it for? Do you like it? Please leave a comment below... I love to know more about this!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture #201 Orange Imagine

Another Orange Red lipstick by YSL - YSL Rouge Pur Couture #201 Orange Imagine
This lipstick is one of three colors for Fall 2012.

A comparison with the famous orange-red color by YSL #13 Le Orange (on top). Somehow the new lipstick does not have "YSL" stamp on the lipstick.

Swatches of both lipsticks. They are very close, but Le Orange is a touch lighter and more orange whereas Orange Imagine is more red. Also, I feel like Le Orange is more cooler tone.

me with bare lips

with Orange Imagine on me

The sun made it looks more orange.

I love this YSL lipstick (and the rest of Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks). It is very very pigmented, very long lasting, and does not dry my lips. I had bagel, drinks, and lipstick is still on... :)

I bought the other 2 lippies from this collection, I will try to post them too!

Best Nail Lady!

me, Rachelle, and Vivi (partner in crime when it comes to shopping)
Rachelle is the best nail lady in town!! Not anymore! because she is moving to Atlanta!!! :((

She works at Nordstrom in downtown Seattle. She is very experienced, patient, meticulous, and very creative in mixing different colors (and finishes) of polishes.. My feet never feel as smooth until Rachelle touches them.. While doing our nails she would share stories and she often share TIPS and TRICKS! Also introduces us the newest beauty gadget out there - she gave me a "clarisonic" for your feet today.

Besides her wonderful talents, she is the best sales assistance I could ever ask for! My shopping experience become so much easier! I can just email or text her if I ever needed anything and she will get everything ready for me, and I can just pick it up from my car! She remembers what I like and will let me know when they go on sale.. and invites me to events that I would enjoy.

I definitely going to miss you, I wish you all the best, Rachelle! Thank you for everything!

ps: for those of you Atlanta ladies, track her down at Nordstrom!

xoxo, Angela

July Picks

Hello there! This is going to be my make up picks (does not necessarily be my favorite products, just some products that I have currently been using) at the moment ...

... let's start with the base ...

I am currently LOVING this combination!
I usually apply primer on my T zone (forehead, nose, and chin). I mix the BB cream with my foundation then apply it all over my face with my hands.

The primer give a pearly/dewy finish NOT oily and yet holds my make up throughout the day. The picture below shows how the primer consist of very fine silver iridescence.

Why do I have 2 of the same foundations?! At the beginning I bought shade #4, but it is too dark, so I bought the shade #3, still too dark (I think shade #3 is the perfect color for me, but I like to look PALE, even though I have very medium skin tone) so I decide to mix the foundation with the BRTC BB cream which is even lighter.

In addition, I really like mixing the BB cream because it has a really thick consistency that gives more coverage to my acne scarring.

The Primer, BRTC BB cream, Foundation Shade #3, and #4
I really love these foundations because, to me, it is really light - I don't even feel like I am wearing foundation - and it gives a good coverage. It stays on throughout the day (maybe with the help of the primer too). I start wearing my make up from 7am to about 6pm. I should say that the foundation is not water resistance and TRANSFERABLE! I accidentally stain my white shirt! But overall I am very happy with these babies especially on the hot summer days. Will repurchase. Will recommend to people with OILY skin.

... moving on ...

I am sure I mentioned YSL touch eclat before! I LOVE this thing! It is the best under eye HIGHLIGHTER (not concealer). It really brighten (not cover) the under eye area. Will repurchase (in fact, I already have a backup). Will recommend to people that have light dark circle.

I dont really use the YSL stick concealer unless I have a major spot that need to be cover, but usually with an extra layer of BB cream + foundation combo I can pretty much conceal all the acne scarring. This is just for an emergency :P

I use YSL compact powder to set the foundation. It is an okay product. No complain. Still in search for a holy grail compact powder. I have use chanel, makeup forever, burberry, mac, some drugstore brands, and still in hunt for a better product.

I love using Dior Bronzer and skip blush on the summer time. I pick this bronzer in shade 004 Spicy. It has a little bit red undertone that will be perfect for blush/bronzer.

I always love my Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base.. Every time I am putting mascara on, I have to have this base! So good! curled, lengthen, and makes my lashes stronger.

I just bought the Giorgio Armani Mascara during Nordstrom anniversary sale (7/13/2012) as it is part of this set and I wanted to try the 'eyes to kill' line. Mascara is okay. It lengthen but does not do really good job on volumizing.

On the other hand, Chanel Inimitable Mascara has been my staple mascara for years! This mascara do really good job in lengthening, separating, and pretty good at volumizing. I think the best mascara that I have tried are this chanel mascara and YSL Faux Cils Mascara (best for volumizing).

Dont waste your money on Dior Heated Eyelash Curler !! Traditional eyelash curler will work better (shu uemura is my pick!)

Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil is really ideal for traveling. It is very convenient as it is double-ended with build-in spoolie.

Everyone please try Giorgio Armani Eyeliner at least once in your life. Its like the softest eyeliner yet very black and bold I have ever tried. The MAC is just a back up as I dont bring sharpener around with me.

Some tools that I used daily!

Make-up in my purse on the go

Lip products that I am currently using.
I hope you guys enjoy this!
I know it is kind of long. Don't hesitate to comment below if you have any further questions about any of the products listed. I am not expert, everything is just by my own experience :D
