Ciaté 'Mini Mani' Set || Fade To Greige

I have been shopping a little bit.. and this is one of them :)

I got Ciaté 'Mini Mani' Set :) This set is available both at Nordstrom and Sephora.

The Mini Mani Set is gorgeously packaged with:
- 17 of Ciaté's bestselling mini Paint Pots.
- 4 mini Caviar blends.
- 3 exclusive Paint Pot glitter shades.

It is kind of nice to get so many different polishes for $58.. Although they come in smaller bottle, who needs a full size polish? I never finish a bottle of nail polish, it usually ended up drying.

I never try any Ciate polishes, so it is a good way to tested out a brand.
It is kind of sad that these polishes are made in China! It cost $15 for a full size bottle and the brushes/applicator does not feel as smooth as other high quality brands such as Deborah Lippmann or Butter.

The design on Ciate bottles are cute though; curvy bottle with a slim top handle and accented with bow at the front.

Fade To Greige is a purplish dark gray. This polish turns opaque with 2 coats.
It is a perfect color for fall.

I will definitely update you guys about the staying power of Ciate nail polishes.

Chanel [565] Beige

Quick nail of the week. Beige by Chanel. It is a nude (very yellow base) with purple/magenta micro glitter. I honestly cannot really see the glitter once the polish applied to the nails in any sort of lighting.

My Nail Polish Collection

Whee ~ I just reorganize my nail polishes into this shoe organizer thing that I got from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for just $14.99 :)

I really want to get a nail polish rack before, but I figure, this will be a easier and cheaper way to store my nail polishes. With nail polish rack I have to like drill holes on my walls etc etc. In addition, this will be easier to move around.

Okay... so here's more detailed of the above picture!

On the very top layer I put on all my basics like base coat, top coat, cuticle oils. On the right side I put in all the tools - like nail clipper, konad stamps (which i think does not work really well), and some stickers (easy way to do nail arts)

On the 2nd layer are my glittery top coats, nudes, browns, and high-end reds.

3rd layer are my pinks, corals, hot pinks, and deeper/wine reds

4th layer are my purple, magentas, darker purples, and very dark purples.

5th layer are my greens, aqua or any color that contains both green and blue, blues, and dark blues.

6th layer are my lower-end red, taupe colors, the last 2 columns are white, gray and blacks.

The last layer are my yellows/gold, oranges, and color that looks funky and my lotions!

My favorite nail polish brands are definitely are Deborah Lippmann and Chanel. I feel their polishes are really good quality and easy to apply. They often comes up with really unique colors too :)

I got this nail polish organization idea from Ingrid (missglamorazzi)

Deborah Lippmann | Modern Love

Hello there! This is a fall 2012 collection by Deborah Lippmann. There is another one that came along with this polish. More fun and playful color - Let's go crazy.

Modern Love is a taupe/pinkish nude. It is very classy and elegant. My co-worker loves it so much that I gave away my first bottle and I have to re-purchase another one ASAP. I have no color like this in my collection (2 -almost-full- drawers)

Just so you know Deborah Lippmann came up with a new labeling font! It's not fake or anything! Below image shown the comparison between the new label (modern love) and the older one (prelude to a kiss).

Finally the image that I am sure you guys have been waiting for: the SWATCH!
There! I am not lying about how pretty and elegant this color is! It is perfect for a nice dinner date, office, presentation, and others...

I am sorry for my absence! I have been pretty occupied with work and make-up sessions with clients (not complaining). I have been in a special project too! I have designed a few bracelets that is now for sale on my etsy store - Sephene Jewelry. Do visit please! They are handmade by me :) Let me know if you like the jewelry in the comment section please :)

Taking a break from bright color this summer? :: Chanel 559 Frenzy ::

This is part of Fall 2012 Collection as has been featured on my haul.

Among all three polishes from that collection, this is the one that got me excited the most. Below is the comparison against Deborah Lippmann Naked and Fashion. Chanel Frenzy has more grey in undertone where as both Naked and Fashion are leaning toward yellow/warm undertone.

July 4th, 2012 Nail Art

Yay! Happy 4th of July...

Yay! Happy day off from work hahaha

The American Flag is the inspiration of my nail art
**this is my first attempt doing nail art, hopefully you guys can understand!!**

We are going to use these beautiful nail polishes from Deborah Lippmann
Lady Sings the Blue - this is a perfect navy blue polish because it already have silver glitters that represents the stars on the flag.
My Funny Valentine - just a normal true red polish.
Like a Virgin - gel-ly white polishes (this is the only white polish that I have), I like the gel-ly texture because it does not look like I am wearing a white-out.

For a simpler version, I just use the blue on the ring finger and red on the rest of the nails. But then, I showed to Wally (my hubby), he innocently said "where is the white?"

So I dedice to remove red on my index and middle fingers and applied white polish then draw the red stripes. It took quite sometimes to do this! because I am not use to doing nail art, but I am quite happy with the result. What do you think? any tips for doing lines on your nail? I just used a toothpick - to line dots.

Deborah Lippmann [ I kissed a girl ]

Hot pink polish for the rainy summer in Seattle.. yes!

Currently I have been using Rehydrating base coat from Deborah Lippmann. It has been saving my super dry nails, I am surprise it actually works! I love my Ridge Filler base coat from Deborah Lippmann as provides a smooth canvas and it keeps the polishes stay longer. But I guess I might have to take a break from it for the time being :.(

I am also using a new top coat Addicted to Speed by Deborah Lippmann - I think the polish dry faster when I use this compared to the On A Clear Day top coat by Deborah Lippmann.

[I kissed a girl] nail color is one of the five polishes from Run The World. It is smaller (as you can see from the first picture) as compared to the normal Deborah Lippmann polishes, but i think it is a smarter way as you get more colors - and I never really run out of nail polish, they just dried as time goes by.
The polish dry to be not as bright as it is on the bottle. Still a pretty neon pink color :)

NARS Kutki

[this is taken sometimes last week]

I have been taking a break on my nails because they have been SUPER dry, but now I am back - I will post more nail of the day :)

Here is the NARS Kutki polish from this summer 2012 collection. It is a true sky blue color. Flat with no shimmer. Opaque with 2 coats - streaky on the first coat. It chipped within the 2nd day on my right hand (esp. on my index finger - the most used finger of all 10 hehe). I bought the entire collection - hopefully I will post the swatches of the rest soon!

Butter London | Slapper

One of Butter London spring 2012 collection :: slapper ::
This is a mermaid green color. Im so impressed with how one coat turns out to be pretty opaque.
However, after a few days a saw a "discoloration" on my nails, some part (mostly towards the center) of my nails shows yellowish/true-green color - its not that obvious though :) - thank God! because I really do like this color.

{as usual, I used Deborah Lippmann Ridge Filler base coat and On A Clear Day top coat}

left-to-righ: Deborah Lippmann On the Beach, Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream, Butter London Slapper

I thought Butter Slapper will be a close color to new spring 2012 On the beach by Deborah Lippmann but turned out to be a completely different color. On the Beach is obviously more blue, whereas Slapper is more teal. But if they would marry and have glamourous kid, Mermaid's dream will be it! The bigger glitters are the color of On the Beach and small glitters are the color of Slapper.

Chanel {533} April

Happy April Fools Day... :D
Here's the "april" nail polish swatches/review . . .

Since it is the first day of April ...

natural daylight

This is a deeper red/mauve/plum color.
A flat color without shimmer/sheen, somehow it looks like that this polish has a very high gloss.
I feel more mature when I wear this color.
But, I kinda love it, I have no color like this!

Monday Manicure | MAC Pinkly Fresh {Chenman} + OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! {Holland}

The pastel fever :P
The main color of this manicure is actually MAC Pinkly Fresh {Chenman Collection},
and I OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! {Holland Collection} as an accent on the ring finger.
I feel that their color is pretty close, the OPI is a little bit warmer and has silver glitters.

Monday Manicure | Essie 788 To Buy Or Not To Buy

color in the bottle

name / code of the polish

swatches on my nails

It actually has fine purple-bluish glitters on the polish, but it does not show on the nails.
With 2 coats, and Deborah Lippmann Ridge Filler base coat, polish appear opaque.
However, it chipped pretty quick {within 1-2 days}.

Sneak Peek of HelloIndo march/april 2012 edition + nail of the day

These are some sneak peek of the works I have been collaborating with HelloIndo magazine. I did the make-up for the fashion spread for the models.. and hopefully, my first beauty section in HelloIndo magazine will be included in march/april 2012 edition!

Fashion Spread
Beauty Section

When I went to california, I stopped by Fashion Island {it's an outdoor mall} because I know there is one of the Inglot store in USA. {Inglot is a make-up company from Poland <-- where Wally's dad come from}. Wally is so kind, he let me buy a lot of make-up stuffs that I was there! He's usually does let me buy any make-ups!!

I got the make up brush belt.. because I know MAC does not sells one on their free standing store, I am not sure about their PRO stores. Anyway, Inglot is so much cheaper compare to MAC.. This brush belt cost me about $45.

And of course, I have to get some of their amazing eye-shadows. I choose more taupe and purply shades because I own a lot of neutrals and browns.

Last night, I painted my nails again... this is Wet n Wild {On a Trip / En voyage} + Jesse's Girl {Confetti}
The brush of this Wet n Wild is so big, it covers my whole nails - I don't know if it makes the application easier or harder; you can coat your nail with one swipe but it can get messy!
